Bought it instantly as I saw there is a remake! One of the few games I played twicce in a row right after the first time.I mean your gun is TALKING to you and also is mocking with your helmet and your bagpack.♥♥♥♥, this is "Dora the explorer" for adults, what's there not to be loved about it!. Only just started playing this. I have to say the graphics are better than I expected, considering this is an old game respun. A lot of time and effort has gone into this. I'd say this is a very good retro RPG first person shooter. You can see this being expanded upon in the future with more AAA treatment. It is only £20, pretty much what this cost over ten years ago. The game has a very good feel to it and I'm hooked.I'll be completing this one definitely. Pros, graphics are nice and pleasant, atmospheric and reasonably paced. Try it at near 4k and at least 2.0 native graphics very nice. For an old game the redux is easy to play, using keyboard and mouse. Especially if you program your mouse and keyboard.Cons, mouse control is jarring, definitely needs work. I had rely on my mouse to gain better control. Some of the scenary is scaled low resolution, which detracts from some of the other excellant graphics.I'd recommend it. Not as good as sniper elite from the same people, but that's a AAA game, this definitely has potential. I especially like that 2000AD RPG is featuring heavily in this game. MORE PLEASE! perhaps MACH 1 or Strontium dog, or better still an open world heavy rpg focused judge Dredd..... With 10-20 hour DLC campaigns at say £10 each. The possibilities are endlessBack to the game this is a near solid import, controls need work but other than that buy it and enjoy.. Big fan of 2000AD and specifically Rogue Trooper, back in the day I owned 100's of comics and the full Rogue Trooper set released through QC (quality comics).Remember playing the original game many years ago, noticed this "Redux" version on sale during a recent Rebellion games promotion. Started playing it today, really got into it, played several hours straight. Really enjoyed myself, graphics looked much better than the original, found the combat very enjoyable especially the "assist" mode which brings the camera closer to Rogue and gives a solid TPS feel. Good combat is very important in a combat game, and this game nails it.Yes, its bit glitchy in places, but the controls worked well with keyboard/mouse, no complaints there. At the price I got it on sale, it was a no brainer, and well worth playing for Rogue Trooper and 2000AD fans. One thing I did notice, its not canon, I'm pretty sure Rogue took the biochips from Helm, Gunnar and Bagman during the Quartz Massacre?. 3.6 hours to complete, Huh?For some reason it felt like 8 or a heck of a lot more…Thing that you need to take into consideration when looking at this remaster is that Rogue Trooper, originally, wasn’t that much of a “good” game neither. It was a very “niche”, or “cult” type of game, with a similarly “niche”, or “cult” videogame audience.Everything ranging from the combat to the cover system, to even something as rudimentary in games as it would be the switching of your weapons, feels sluggish. The universe is fantastic, I love the atmosphere, and appreciate the story, as cheesy as it is.The aesthetic is fantastic, and the graphical improvements are noticeable, then again, the original game got released in 2006, it wouldn’t really have taken that much on the developers part to improve on the original graphics.Plus, the improvements are generally inconsistent really…Sometimes the lighting looks fantastic, other times it looks flat, the textures look incredibly detailed in the main protagonist model, but not necessarily in the enemies, generally though, the textures look rather poorly for the vast majority of the surfaces, in the vast majority of the game, its like the developers simply gave up, and as end result for the first couple of levels everything seems significantly improved over the original, even up to par with some older releases in recent years, but not necessarily with actual ones.Probably what I resent the most is that this was a great opportunity to improve on a lot of the aspects of the game design, they should have, in my opinion, improve severely on the combat system, and the cover system. In regards with the cover system, now they’ve made it sort of like a “Snap-On” mechanic. So, you just have to approach a wall and automatically the player will take cover, it’s incredibly buggy tho, so there are times in which the character would snap to “lower covers” but it wouldn’t crouch, keeping his lower half, in, cover but with half his back outside of it.Other times it would just get stuck halfway, and after a while, by itself, it would get out of it.But the combat it’s probably the worst offender, in the original as well as in this one.The gunplay feels terrible, it never feels as if any of your shots are really getting anywhere, even if you’re hitting the enemy, other times the enemies take a ton of damage, a ton of hits to kill, making the game a chore to play, and an incredibly tedious experience for the most part, there are times in which sometimes you feel as it is the recoil of your weapon causing this, other times if you aim outside of your enemies you end up getting hits, other times you don’t.There’s just this amass of inconsistency propagated in most of the aspects of the game.Even then, me, personally, enjoy it.I can’t really describe why, I guess I just appreciate the “feel” of it, maybe because I like the universe so much, that’s why I bought the game, that’s why I played the original game a couple of weeks ago in preparation for this one.But I can’t recommend the game, because its a terrible game, it’s a… “Bearable” experience, sure it is, but it shouldn’t have to be, a game shouldn’t have to be a chore to play through it.So as much as I can say it was a fine time to play through it personally, I can’t recommend it with good conscience.Buy it if you’re a fan of the Rogue Trooper series as a whole, buy it if you enjoy the original game. But if you’re simply curious about it, or relatively interested in it, I would suggest to wait for a deep, deep, sale, even if the launch price isn’t that expensive to begin with, you’ll thank me later, even if I personally don’t regret buying it, nor playing it.. 10/10. this game is awesome. So the graphic is not that good I was expecting for. Realy beautiful looks only Quartz zone massacre, Nu Paree, (whateverthe♥♥♥♥) forest and Qxark mountains. Animation with this graphic level looks bad. Enemies are stupid. Gameplay tweaks are a bit useless (They should have done a "sprint" function for character, instead of useless aiming function and auto-leaning to cover). They DID change models and textures, but water still looks terrible. In trailer they said:-"higher level geometry", what was not made in every level. Remodeled characters not that good also, I'm rather sticking to the old ones (GIs). Well, almost wasted potential, even though you can still enjoy this game. Waiting for sequel, and hoping, it will be better.
